PUBLIC NOTICE WEST VIRGINIA MEDICAID PROGRAM STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 17-006 REGARDING SUPPLEMENTAL PAYMENTS TO AMBULANCE PROVIDERS Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. 447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources ("Department"), Bureau for Medical Services ("BMS") provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 17-006, regarding supplemental payments to ambulance providers. The SPA specifically establishes a program within Medicaid to reimburse ambulance providers the difference between the regular Medicaid reimbursement amount and the ambulance providers' actual costs. The SPA is being promulgated pursuant to House Bill 2739, enacted during the regular legislative session in 2017. This effective date for this SPA is to be determined. The expected fiscal impact for fiscal years 2017 and 2018 cannot be determined at this time. The SPA and this notice will be available for public inspection in each county office of the Department of Health and Human Resources during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Friday, December 15, 2017 through Monday, January 15, 2018, and on the web at: www.dhhr. wv.gov/bms, then click "Public Notices" on the top toolbar.
